Within the Music:
A Night of Fairy Tales
a livestreamed concert
Wednesday March 26th at 7:30 pm central time
A Night of Fairy Tales concert will celebrate the rich tradition of fairy tales in German culture through classical music and other works of art. Fairy tales have long been an integral part of German culture, woven into its history and storytelling traditions. The performance will feature musical selections alongside artistic projects created by German language students in Sharon Weiner’s class, taking the audience on a magical journey through the centuries of fairy tale storytelling.
I will be joined by my Baylor University School of Music colleagues, DJ Cheek (viola), Jamie Van Eyck (mezzo-soprano), Michael Clark, Kathleen Kelly, and Byunghee Yoo (piano), to present German art songs and instrumental music by 19th-century and contemporary German composers. The audience will be invited to interact with the music performed and share their own experiences of the magical tales brought to life through the music.
